I nodded, finding solace in Caleb’s embrace.

Although Gale wielded extraordinary power in my nightmares, in reality, her connections to witches remained unclear.
Currently, she was known only as the Alpha of the Xeric Pack, without any witch-Like behaviors.
But what connection did she have with those mixed-blood witches who were attempting to harm us?

With doubts swirling, I closed my eyes, hoping for rest.
The latter part of the night was restless for me. My thoughts were in disarray, filled with dreams that remained elusive upon waking. It was as though I was submerged, fighting for air, but couldn’t manage to surface.
When morning came, the mirror revealed the toll this restlessness had taken on me, with dark circles evident under my eyes.
Caleb had errands to attend to, leaving the house early. It being the weekend meant a break from school for the kids. So, after rising, I prepared breakfast for them.
Shortly after we finished eating, my father arrived.
His visits, of course, were primarily for the kids, not just for me.
Since we had been back in the Silver Ridge Pack, the bond between him and the kids had only grown. They were always eager to be by his side, and he reciprocated their affection fully.

Each time he wrapped up his duties, he made it a point to spend quality time with them, often taking them out for the majority of the day.
This routine meant Caleb sometimes returned to find the house unusually quiet, prompting his playful grievances.
But this dynamic didn’t bother me in the slightest.

Seeing the joy and love my father brought to my children filled me with happiness.
“Debra, we’re heading out.”
As always, my dad greeted me before taking the hands of the two children, and getting ready to head out. However, just as they were about to leave, an alarming vision flashed before my eyes.
In my mind’s eye, I envisioned the moment my father and the children stepped outside, and suddenly, a sturdy branch from the Large tree next to the door snapped, striking them harshly.
Debra’s POV:
“Watch out!”
Out of nowhere, a premonition hit me. Instinctively, I reached out, pulling my father and the children back to safety.
The next instant, with a thunderous crash, a thick branch fell exactly where I had seen it in my vision, stirring dust off the ground.
I stood there, staring at the fallen branch, my mind reeling.
If I hadn’t acted decisively and pulled them away in time, that branch would have collided with them.
